Here’s what’s closed today in Columbus for the Juneteenth holiday
June 20, 2022
As of last year, Juneteenth is a federal holiday.
Commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating Black culture, Juneteenth takes place every year on June 19, which was yesterday.
Since Juneteenth is recognized at the national level, it means a good deal of institutions will close. This includes:
- The United States Postal Service (mail delivery will resume tomorrow)
- Columbus Public Libraries
- Banks
- City Government Offices
- City Courts
- The Ohio State University Campus
- Columbus State Community College Campus
Due to the holiday, parking meters will not be enforced in Columbus as well.
