New “immersive retail experience” with music, food, shopping and infinity room opening in Franklinton this weekend

In case you need another reason to be excited about the Gravity development coming to Franklinton, we have one for you.

This weekend, Marketplace at Gravity will hold its official grand opening.

Marketplace, a recurring, “experience-driven” pop-up market will be held every weekend through May of 2023. It will be located at 501 W. Broad St., across from the development’s first phase.

Ariana Lindenfelser of Matchmakers Studio + Shop has helped curate many of the vendors, which Marketplace plans to rotate every three months. The first set of vendors will include Columbus Fashion Alliance, Dust Punks, Fruit Szn, Life of Leisure, Sistain, Quill and Concrete + Home Decor.

A rotating array of food trucks will be on site, and Seeded will be using the space to host an intimate, four-hour dinner series with curated music and immersive art twice monthly.

Art installations created by What? Productions, a local experiential design firm, will be featured in the form of a maze, infinity room and more for Marketplace.

“The city has been hungry for a hub like this, and Franklinton is ready for it. The Marketplace at Gravity will be ever-changing, totally immersive and a really special spot to experience when visiting town or every weekend,” Lindenfelser said in a press release. “I am incredibly excited about the opportunity this space will provide for so many creative movers, tastemakers and small business owners in the city. It will bring a new layer of dynamic retail to the area while allowing these small businesses to incubate and prepare for stand-alone brick-and-mortar stores. It’s going to be amazing.”
