Ohio festival dedicated to sweet corn kicks off this week
There’s a very good chance that the Millersport Lions Sweet Corn Festival is the only end-of-summer Ohio festival that describes its festivities as “ear-ristable fun.”
The free festival’s 75th Diamond Jubilee celebration, which kicks off tomorrow and runs through Saturday, features four nights of concerts, as well as tractor pulls, rides, and the annual sweet corn eating contest. Fair food of all kinds will be in abundance, along with ice cold brews courtesy of the Hickory Grove Beer Garden, which will also feature wine.

In addition to live music, the festival will also feature clogging, karate demonstrations, square dancing, and more. The Heritage Village will showcase local spots out of time, such as the Brison Summer Kitchen, the Charles Holiday Covered Bridge, and the Spurgeon Eno General Store. Visitors will also be able to perouse handmade goods including jewelry, clothing, and blankets.
The festival runs from 5 to 11 p.m. tomorrow through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. The festival is free to attend, and parking is $10 per vehicle.
