Challah! Is coming back.

The former food truck and pickup kitchen out of the now-defunct Ambrose & Eve, recently announced that it will be temporarily returning following a hiatus.

“Guess who’s back. Back again. Challah’s back tell your friends,” a statement posted to the concept’s Instagram reads. “We are launching a series of three pop ups over the next few months. Each location being critical to [owner Catie Randazzo’s] career.”

Columbus chef Catie Randazzo, who owned Ambrose & Eve, created Challah!, which serves creative dishes inspired by Jewish comfort food, like its popular crispy chicken sandwich.

It was this sandwich, in fact, that motivated this summer’s series of pop-ups.

“My brother Sam B. Randazzo was eating a fried chicken sandwich at the bar across the street from his house, took a picture, and said it looks like someone tried to make your sandwich. To which I responded, no, nobody can make my sandwich but me,” Catie Randazzo told 614Now. “I posted on Facebook that I was considering doing a pop-up and the response was wild, so now, here we are doing a three series pop-up.”

Randazzo said they don’t intend to make the new pop-up a permanent fixture, and they don’t have plans to relaunch Challah! as a food truck or brick and mortar restaurant.

Challah!’s first pop-up will be held at The Jury Room on June 28, from 4-8 p.m. or until food is sold out. The Jury Room, which is located at 22 E. Mound St., is where Randazzo held their first executive chef position.

The pop-up will continue at Short North Tavern on July 11, and with Fetty’s Food Truck at Antiques on High, although the date for this event hasn’t been determined yet.
