Gatto’s Pizza has been located at 2928 N. High St. for more than 70 years, and now the longstanding Columbus restaurant is deciding to switch things up.

According to a statement posted to Gatto’s social media accounts this morning, the pizzeria will be moving to 3420 Indianola Ave., the former site of McCarthy’s Wildflower Cafe.

A popular Clintonville eatery, the Wildflower Cafe announced its permanent closure late last year. It had operated at its Indianola Avenue location for 22 years.

Gatto’s has not yet announced a date yet for when it will open at its new location, but it is slated to happen this spring. The new location is approximately 1.5 miles away from its former storefront.

The pizzeria, which features thin, Columbus-style pies, opened at its current location in 1952. And while it will be moving into a new home, Gatto’s will still remain in Clintonville.
