Agave & Rye owner bringing hip new steakhouse, Son of a Butcher, to Columbus

Son of a Butcher held the official grand opening of its first-ever restaurant, located in the greater Cincinnati area, earlier this month, and according to owner Yavonne Sarber, Columbus should expect a Son of a Butcher location in the not too distant future as well.

She said the steakhouse is currently considering several Columbus locations for its second location, although one hasn’t been selected just yet.

Sarber expects Son of a Butcher to open in Columbus in the first quarter of 2023.

Complete with a massive collection of hip chandeliers and other chic interior design elements, the eatery provides high-end cuts of beef, seafood and more, in addition to a more fun, informal atmosphere.

“The era of stuffy steakhouses has now evolved into something magical! From the creators of Agave & Rye, comes a restaurant that’s not your father’s steakhouse — it’s Son of a Butcher, lovingly known as S.O.B.!,” a press release about the new concept reads. “This very special restaurant concept offers everything you could ever want from a top steakhouse, without the white tablecloths, pretentious service and boring atmosphere. Son of a Butcher has something for everyone, including USDA prime cuts, Wagyu, caviar, shaved truffles, gold leaf options, fresh seafood and scratch pasta. S.O.B. also promises memorable desserts and a drink menu with fun, creative cocktails.”

Son of a Butcher’s first restaurant is located in Liberty Center.
