Bandit Pizza & Pairings is permanently closing

Jack McLaughlin

At the beginning of October, Bandit Pizza & Pairings, a unique new concept from Rockmill Brewery that coupled Rockmill beer with craft pizza, officially opened for business.

Less than seven months later, the spot will close for good.

Yesterday evening, Bandit announced that the restaurant, located at 503 Front St., will close for good this month. Bandit formerly operated as Rockmill Tavern, before closing last spring to rebrand as Bandit Pizza & Pairings.

The pizzeria’s final day of operation will be April 23.

In a statement posted to its social media accounts, Bandit Pizza & Pairings—which received a considerable amount of positive attention after opening in October—cited COVID as a factor in its decision to close.

“Many of you know how complicated the restaurant industry can be under normal circumstances, before considering any of the challenges of the last two years,” the statement reads.

Fans of the Rockmill brand can take solace in the fact that Rockmill Brewery—the popular brewpub located on a historical farm at Lancaster—will remain open.
