Columbus restaurant named one of Yelp’s top 50 in the country for 2022

For the 9th year in a row, Yelp has released its list of the top of this year’s top 100 restaurants in the country, and one Columbus eatery cracked the top 50.

Yelp doesn’t reveal the exact metrics for the list, but it states the top 100 is a collection of “Yelpers’ latest favorites,” and that most spots are relatively affordable.

The sole Columbus-area eatery that grabbed the number 45 spot wasn’t Chapman’s Eat Market (listed in the “New York Times” top 50 American restaurants last year), and the the Columbus classic Lindey’s, which has found itself on a number of best-of lists over its long tenure, wasn’t on the list either.

Yelp named The Refectory as the country’s 45th best eatery of 2022.

“This classic French restaurant, housed in a charming former church, has a reputation as the place to go for fine dining in Columbus. Chef Richard Blondin, a native of Lyon, France, who studied under Paul Bocuse, creates dishes such as a French country terrine with artichoke and pistachio, or filet mignon in cardamom sauce,” the Yelp story reads.

In total, four Ohio restaurants made Yelp’s year-end list. The others include The Sleepy Rooster in Chagrin Falls (number 41), Fireside PIzza in Cincinnati (number 67) and The Alcove Restaurant & Lounge in Mount Vernon (number 74).

The Alcove, just over an hour’s drive from Downtown, is the closest of the three other Ohio eateries on Yelp’s list to Columbus.
