The new Hilton Columbus Downtown tower is slated to be the largest hotel in the state with over 1,000 rooms. It’s also bringing four exciting new food concepts, including a full signature restaurant and a 28-story rooftop bar, with it.

And while we’ve been anticipating its opening for years now, we won’t have to wait much longer.

According to General Manager Christian Coffin, the new hotel is slated to open at the end of August. He said Aug. 29 is likely the date it will first open to the public.

Due in part to its massive scale, the hotel will initially launch in a limited capacity before scaling up through the beginning of September.

“We’ll start by ramping occupancy initially. Our goal is to be at 100% after about two weeks,” Coffin said.

Alongside the hotel itself, three new food and drink concepts will open to the public at the end of August. FYR, the hotel’s signature restaurant complete with two stories and a live fire element, will open, in addition to Spark, a chic new cocktail bar. The Market, a grab-and-go spot for food and drinks will also open next month.

The hotel’s 28-story rooftop bar, Stories on High, is the only one of the hotel’s new dining concepts that will not initially open. Coffin said it’s likely to open in November.

Hilton Columbus Downtown will be holding a pair of food and beverage-focused hiring events to fill out the staffs of its the new concepts. They will be held July 20, from 12-7 p.m., July 21, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., August 1, from 12-7 p.m., and August 2, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

“This is something that we’ve been working toward for the years. This is a great cty, and the hotel will bring a total of 1,000 rooms and new restaurants to it,” Coffin said. “To tell the Columbus story in a fantastic neighborhood, that’s what we’re most excited about.”
