Owner of Meatball Mafia’s new Jimmy Hoffa-themed bar and kitchen opens today

We’ve been waiting for a resolution to the Jimmy Hoffa disappearance for over fifty years, and chances are we’ll probably have to keep waiting.

What we don’t have to wait any longer for is the grand opening of Missing Jimmy’s, the anticipated new neighborhood bar created by the owner of Meatball Mafia, Robert DelliQuadri.

According to DelliQuadri, Missing Jimmy’s will hold its grand opening today at 5 p.m. It will also open at 5 p.m. on Friday and Monday, at 11 a.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Missing Jimmy’s will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Located at 55 S. High St. in Dublin, the new 15-tap bar is something of a blast from the past, with 70s-era antiques and vintage wood paneling throughout the space, all curated to playfully recall the era when Hoffa disappeared.

“The name was actually supposed to be used on a bologna sandwich we were trying out, since we kept saying it would disappear in your hand,” DelliQuadri said with a laugh. “But then as we were throwing around names for the new concept, this is the one that stuck over and over.”

DelliQuadri hopes that the new space will become an unpretentious, neighborhood bar where visitors can stop by to grab a bite to eat or a drink while they take in a game. The new concept will feature a menu similar to Meatball Mafia’s, although it will serve personal pizzas instead of larger-sized pies.

“It’s been a dream of mine to have a local bar, a gathering place where friends can get a little loud and argue about the blown call in a game,” DelliQuadri said. “We can’t wait for everyone to disappear with us for a while.”
