Popular shawarma spot opens second location

Shawerma Bite is moving on up.

That’s because, earlier this month, the popular fast-casual Columbus spot for Mediterranean fare officially opened a brand-new location.

With its original restaurant located in the University District at 12 E. 16th St., Shawarma Bite launched a new storefront at 5453 Bethel Sawmill Center on the city’s Northwest Side.

The new location held its grand opening on March 14.

As the eatery’s name implies, it’s known first for shawarma, a dish that features thinly-sliced strips of lamb typically cut from a rotating spit. Shawerma Bite’s marinates its proteins for 24 hours beforehand, and the meat is then either placed on a bed of smoked rice or served in a salad, pita or tortilla. Shawerma Bite’s authentic falafel is also popular among diners.

The eatery utilizes a build-your-own approach, which allows patrons to fully customize their food.
