A fire in the kitchen of a popular Short North eatery has caused the concept to put its operations on hold.

On Tuesday, a fire broke broke out in the basement-level kitchen of The Rossi Kitchen & Bar, which is located 895 N. High St.

According to photos and video of the incident shared with 614Now, multiple Columbus Fire Department vehicles were on site to fight to the fire, and for a time, smoke was blowing out onto the street level.

The Rossi posted to its social media accounts yesterday afternoon, stating that the eatery will be closed until further notice.

“Yesterday we had a small electrical fire in our space. Thankfully everyone is okay. We will be closed till further notice and will reopen better than ever. Thank you all for your continued support,”  the statement reads.

The eatery did not share any additional details about the fire, and it not offer a timeline for its return. The Rossi did not respond to a request for comment by the time this story was published.
