The Caribbean Sandwich Shop opens in Columbus Food Hall

Jack McLaughlin

Just in time for spring, a unique new Caribbean-inspired sandwich concept has come to Columbus.

The Caribbean Sandwich Shop officially opened as a ghost kitchen in the Columbus Food Hall, a collection of commercial delivery and pickup kitchens, located at 1282 Essex Ave.

“Things are always difficult during the pandemic, but we’re building our clientele as we speak, and we’re excited to be open,” said Caribbean Sandwich Shop owner Kesia Boamah.

According to Boamah, the Caribbean Sandwich Shop’s most popular items are its jerk chicken and jerk brisket sandwiches. Customers can also opt for jerk wings, fried plantains, and mango mousse for dessert.

Boamah, a native of Jamaica, also operates an additional pair of Caribbean concepts in the Columbus Food Hall called Yaad Tacos & Burritos and IrieJam Island Grill, which also boasts a food truck.
