The city’s only sober bar will officially open next month
In just over one month, The Dry Mill will be officially open for business.
The city’s only dedicated sober bar—which plans to offer a variety of booze-free beverages like virgin cocktails, craft soda, and non-alcoholic beer—announced its grand opening will be held on April 30.
The Dry Mill is located Downtown at 79 S. 4th St.

“It has been a lot of hard work and we are excited to share The Sober Bar of Columbus with all of you,” a statement posted to The Dry Mill’s Instagram account reads.
Initially, the new spot was slated for an early February grand opening, but this date was eventually pushed back.
The Dry Mill was created by a pair of now-sober friends, Dave Payne and Collin Thomas, who envision it as a space for everyone, not just those who don’t drink.
“When we both got sober a few years ago, there was a feeling of being an outsider, and we didn’t feel like we had a safe environment where we could hang out,” Payne said. “We want to provide an environment where people feel safe and welcome without being surrounded by alcohol.”
