The first brick and mortar keto bakery in the state of Ohio holds grand opening

If you think a keto diet eliminates the possibility of enjoying some fresh baked goods, think again.

Columbus Keto Treats, the first keto brick and mortar bakery in the state, held its grand openin on June. The bakery is located at 3306 Columbus St. in Grove City.

The new keto-friendly concept had been operating out of a rented commercial kitchen space since last March before the decision was made to secure a storefront.

The bakery offers a wide variety of treats, including cookies, cupcakes, buckeyes and more. According to owner Kari Bivens, the bakery opts for sugar substitutes like erythritol and allulose. These have a far lower glycemic index than table sugar, which is the primary reason baked goods are typically not keto-friendly.

Columbus Keto Treats is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 12-6 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The bakery is closed Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
