These two popular Columbus restaurants are swapping locations

While news of one restaurant taking over the former location of another is a regular occurrence, it’s not everyday you hear about eateries swapping locations.

But this is exactly what’s happening with SuperChef’s Gahanna and Los Guachos Taqueria’s Gahanna location.

Both eateries are located in Gahanna’s Stoneridge Plaza at the intersection of Cherry Bottom Road and Morse Road, roughly two miles north of downtown Gahanna. SuperChef’s was formerly located at 1344 Cherry Bottom Rd., and Los Gauchos is currently finishing its stay at 1376 Cherry Bottom Rd.

The eateries have confirmed that they are currently in the process of switched locations. This means SuperChef’s will move to 1376 Cherry Bottom Rd., and Los Guachos will be located at 1344 Cherry Bottom Rd.

For Los Gauchos, the move is about growth.

“In the new location there will be more space for the comfort of our clients, a full bar and an open patio for the days of summer,” said owner General Manager Edith Nonato. “The new location has 2,817 square feet and the patio has 650 square feet. The previous location had 1,500 square feet.”

According to SuperChef’s co-owner Ryan Bryson, the eatery originally planned to remodel its old space and had an April 5 opening date marked, but the smaller Los Guachos site offered SuperChef’s a more suitably-sized storefront for its current staff.

“We swapped locations with Los Guachos to be able to open our dine-in option back up with our current workforce,” Bryson said. “We moved first, which is why they are further along in the reopening process than us, but once we get through building and zoning we will be able to reopen.”

There is currently no reopening date for either location. SuperChef’s is currently closed until it can reopen, and Los Guachos (which operates three other locations) announced its final day of service at its old location will be on April 10.
