This Columbus vodka was recently named the best in the entire country

High Bank Distillery Co. is a perennial favorite restaurant for so many Columbus-area foodies, but according to an international competition, their spirits may be even better.

 At the Fall 2022 John Barleycorn Awards–a seasonal competition created by spirits writers–High Bank Vodka was named the Best Vodka in America. Each entry was taste-tested blind and ranked in a number of categories on a 100-point scale.

Here’s what High Bank co-found and master distiller Adam Hines said about the distillery’s flagship vodka.

“Even though we love our brown spirits, our clear spirits are just as enjoyable. I made all of our spirits to be able to drink neat. A lot of people think vodka is vodka, but submitting our High Bank Vodka to international spirit competitions proves that vodka can be extremely nuanced. Taking home Best Vodka at such a prestigious competition as Barleycorn continues to show we will always strive to create the best product possible.

It is amazing to be a small distillery in Columbus, OH and to continue to be recognized at a national level.”

The central Ohio distillery, which operates locations in Grandview and Gahanna, won three additional Double Gold Awards and one Gold Award at the event as well.
