Sarah Biggard, owner of The Blonde Bomb Bakery, has experienced a tumultuous 2022. Already, she has dealt with numerous health issues, in addition to the loss of her longtime pet Mastiff.

After she was forced to undergo emergency surgery, however, the bakery couldn’t keep up with expenses, and was forced to shutter.

Known for its indulgent cake jars and more, The Blonde Bomb Bakery was a regular fixture at farmers markets, and even sold desserts at local eateries like Dewey’s Pizza, Java Central and Hoggy’s Restaurant.

And now, Columbus is helping Biggard reopen. Over the last several months, The Blond Bomb Bakery has received $3,560 from a Gofundme campaign, an amount that’s nearly half of its $8,000 goal.

“I am so grateful for all of you. These past few months have been horrendous, to say the least. The one constant good I had was all of you. From messages, voicemails, surprise packages and surprise food drops- you all made sure to let me know, I wasn’t alone,” a statement posted to the bakery’s Instagram account reads. “I am so close to re-opening and am so anxious to create for you guys again. Please continue to help me raise the rest of the funds needed to reopen! The rest of the money raised will go towards restocking with fresh supplies, packaging and paying for some markets.”
