La Banda Mexican Grill has come to Columbus.

The eatery recently opened its first Columbus at 5940 Chantry Dr., on the city’s Southeast Side.

La Banda, which is originally from Waterville (just outside of Toledo), took over the former home of Las Carretas, which also served Mexican cuisine.

The new Columbus eatery features a wide variety of Mexican fare, from fajitas and seafood to taqueria-style tacos, burritos and quesadillas. La Banda even offers a vegetarian menu, with items like Veggie Enchiladas and a Fiesta Burrito.

The eatery also offers American and Mexican beer, in addition to its “famous mega margaritas,” served in a variety of different flavors, and even made spicy.

La Banda is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
