Vacation-themed seafood restaurant holds grand opening

We’ve been waiting for the opening of Kelly’s Island Kitchen, and the day has finally arrived.

This vacation-themed seafood eatery held its official grand opening earlier this week, and is now accepting dine-in customers.

Kelly’s Island Kitchen is located at 14 W. William St. in Delaware, which formerly housed the barbeque spot SmOHked.

The eatery is one of two new concepts opened by Delaware Native TD Rider in the city’s downtown. The other, a mexican restaurant called Queso Fuego Tex Mex, opened earlier this year. Queso Fuego is located next door to Kelly’s Island, at 12 W. William St.

“The new restaurant will be like a Florida vacation, seafood, steaks, chicken, and a burger with some really cool unique sides like pina colada cole slaw, scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese, and house made three-layer key lime pie,” Rider said.
