This is not a drill: Wawa is coming to Ohio.

The popular gas station chain that doubles as a grab-and-go food spot (similar to Sheetz) has announced that it plans an expansion into Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

The Pennsylvania-based chain announced the expansion today after receiving “thousands of requests over the years” to expand west.

“These markets are the perfect places for Wawa to expand based on their strong business communities, their family-like atmosphere, and the confidence that our unique offer and amazing associates will be welcomed by these communities,” Wawa President and CEO Chris Gheysens said in a press release. “We look forward to bringing our freshly prepared food, specialty beverages, fuel, and convenience services to these new areas all while creating new jobs and meaningful community support.”

Wawa plans to release the number of stores that are coming to each state sometime next year. It expects to open its first Ohio locations in 2025.

Like Sheetz, Wawa is known for its many made-to-order food items, particularly sandwiches, such as its Cheesesteak, Chicken Finger Hoagie and Classic Italian Hoagie.
