With a flurry of new eateries opening in Columbus, here are our top five to try
The temperature is heating up outside, but the Columbus food scene is red hot.
In the last several weeks, more than a few anticipated new concepts have officially opened their doors in the Columbus area. And while we won’t touch on all of them, we’ve compiled a list of our five new must-try spots.
Dig in.
The flashy taco and tequila concept–which boasts a dozen locations across the country–opened one Columbus restaurant recently, with another slated to open this month. One, located at 1295 Grandview Ave. in the former home of Spagio, is opening soon. The other, at 479 N. High St. in the Short North, opened on June 1.
High Bank’s Grandview distillery and restaurant has been a local destination for some time now, which means Columbus foodies were likely waiting with bated breath for the brand’s new Gahanna eatery to open its doors. That wait is finally over, as the unique new farmhouse-chic location officially opened last month.

Formerly operating as Indochine Cafe, an East Side hotspot for pho and other Vietnamese cuisine, Racha Tea has opened its doors at 561 S. Hamilton Rd. after a remodel and change of ownership. The new spot not only features milk tea and other desserts, but a variety of authentic banh mi sandwiches are featured on its menu as well.
The buzz around this new Short North spot–the South Korean corn dog chain’s first storefront in Ohio–has been deafening recently, and if you still haven’t stopped by yet, you should. Corn dogs combined with melty mozzarella cheese, sweet potato batter chunks an even squid ink make Myungrang Hot Dog just as delicious as it is interesting.
Last but most definitely not least, the owner of popular Columbus eateries Bodega and Bristol republic has finally opened his hotly-anticipated new spot, Worthington Tavern. The restaurant will skew more food-heavy than Bristol and Bodega, both of which are also known for their drink programs, while still offering craft cocktails and a top-tier craft beer menu.
