Watch (614) editor Jack McLaughlin run for his life inside Fear Columbus’ new Krampus experience
I love scary movies. I love being scared. I really do. But I don’t like the kind of fear, the kind of horror movie, that’s dominated by jump-scares. That’s being startled. And I hate it.
It goes without saying, then, that visiting a nearly 30 minute haunted house that’s regularly ranked as one of the best and scariest in the entire state is probably not a good idea.
So what did I do? You guessed it. Our friends at Fear Columbus launched Krampus: A Haunted Christmas Experience, and extended an invite to the (614) Magazine team. In fact, it’s actually the largest krampus event in America, according to BloodyDisgusting, and if you’re into haunted houses, this is not one to miss.

Unfortunately, I am not. But I went anyway. And naturally, I screamed like a little child the entire time.
I’m not entirely sure how I survived, but the good news is, you can relive my experience (and laugh at me. Mostly, you should be laughing at me) in our video, which you can watch below.
If you want to check out Fear Columbus’ Krampus walkthrough (which we would recommended if you’re a fan of being terrified), tickets are still available here. The event runs through Dec. 15.
Editor’s Note: This video contains (lots of) profanity and flashing lights.
