90-year-old Southern-based convenience store chain opening string of Central Ohio locations

Since 2021, it seems as if there’s a Sheetz at every corner in Columbus. But a new one-stop-shop that fills your tank and belly is making its way on the market.

RaceTrac, a 90-year-old convenience store chain that started in 1934, with over 500 locations throughout the nation, appears to be opening a string of Central Ohio stores for the first time.

Work on one location will start in 2025, located at U.S. Route 36/State Route 37 at Davidson Lane in Delaware, OH. According to Franklin County property records, RaceTrac also bought 16 more acres of land near South High St. and Rathmell Rd., and another 10 acres on Alum Creek Drive near Rickenbacker Airport.

The chain is known for their convenient gas stations, but also grab & go pizza and sandwiches made with hand-selected, high-quality ingredients, as well as whole and cut fruit and salads, Swirl World frozen treat stations featuring frozen yogurts and sorbets, “Crazy Good Coffee,”  and roller grill favorites like hotdogs and tornados.
