A 64 year-old woman was flown to Columbus to receive emergency medical treatment after being attacked by dogs in Vinton County, Police said.

According to a press release from the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was staying in a cabin in the area of Lake Hope State Park last weekend. On Oct. 29, while on a bike ride, she rode past a residence where three pit bull mix canines noticed her and began attacking her as she was riding by the residence.

Several witnesses shielded the victim with their car, which eventually caused the dogs to flee.
