Man checking his tire shot by “unknown male wearing all black”

A man was shot in the foot while changing his tire late last night.

According to Columbus police, at 11:20 p.m., a man was checking the tire of his car, which was parked at the intersection of Nelson Road and Maryland Avenue at approximately 11:20 p.m. last night when he was assaulted.

A “unknown male wearing all black” ran up to the man and shot him in his right foot. It’s unclear what prompted the shooting, and no other information about the suspect has been released.

Police said he was transported to a local hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.
