One dead, one in critical condition after shooting outside of Westerville bar

A shooting outside of a Westerville bar has left one person dead and another injured.

According to Columbus Police, officers responded to a call at Pastimes Pub & Grill, which is located at 6481 N.Hamilton in Westerville, just after midnight this morning.

After arriving at the scene, officers found two people suffering from gunshot wounds and multiple shell casings in the parking lot.

One victim, 21 year-old Dermahni Hoston, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, a man who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

It’s currently unclear what led to the shooting. 

Police have named Torodd L. Carter a suspect in the incident and charged with murder and felonious assault. He fled the scene when Police initially arrived, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
