The 35th anniversary of Wildlights has arrived, here’s what to expect and when you can go

Billed as “One of Ohio’s favorite holiday traditions ,” Wildlights, the long-standing holiday experience and lights display from the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, has returned for its 35th year.

Available until Jan. 7, Wildlights features not only a massive number of zoo animals made up in lights, but also a number of interactive displays and attractions, including the Sparkling Spruce from Diamond Cellar (located in Adventure Cove), the 12 Days of Wildlights Train Ride, a Reindeer Corral (located in North America) and a Santa Experience (located at the Polar Frontier Region).

The Columbus Zoo noted that, while the lights and holiday experience are the stars of the Wildlights experience, a select number of animal enclosures will be open, including: Sea lions (Adventure Cove), Jack Hanna’s Animal Encounters Village (Adventure Cove), Naomi Coyle Dempsey Quest for Enlightenment Interpretive Center (Asia Quest), Pachyderm Building (Asia Quest) – viewable until 7 p.m. nightly, Discovery Reef Aquarium (Shores & Aquarium), Manatee Coast (Shores & Aquarium) and Reptile Building (Shores & Aquarium).

Wildlights is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
