Columbus destination nominated for Best Public Market in the country award from ‘USA Today’

While here in Columbus we don’t need a reminder that The North Market is a national treasure, USA Today Readers are making sure the rest of the country understands.

This year, The North Market was nominated for Best Public Market in the annual USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice awards.

Readers can vote for their favorite public market (out of the 20 nominees) until polls for this award close on July 3 at 12 p.m. The market that receives the greatest number of votes when voting ends is declared the winner and takes the country’s top spot.

Here’s what the national publication had to say about the North Market:

Open since 1876, this historic public market has everything to make a foodie smile. Made up of local merchants and farmers, with such delectable treats as fresh pierogies and vegan soul food, it includes spaces for eating and has a satellite location 15 miles north in the town of Dublin.

You can vote for the North Market here. Currently, the North Market is sixth in voting, ahead of iconic spots like Cleveland’s West Side Market and the Pike Place Market in Seattle.
