A unique new concept has arrived in Driving Park, and it’s just in time for the spooky season descending upon us.

On Oct. 13 (which fittingly happened to be Friday the 13th), Afterlife Oddities & Tattoos officially opened its doors.

As its name suggests, the new business offers a variety of particularly Halloween-friendly items, including taxidermy, wet specimens, ritual herds, crystals, candles and—according to owner Nathan Varney—even human remains, including skulls, mandibles and an entire human skeleton.

“Collecting oddities became an interest of mine eight or nine years ago. Most of my collection has been from online auctions, Facebook groups and traveling. I felt that Columbus could use a true oddities store,” Varney said.

Afterlife Oddities & Tattoos. Which is bisected into two areas, also operates as a tattoo studio under parent Riot Ink, a local tattoo studio with locations in Powell and. The studio is available by appointment only.

The new storefront is located at 1530 Livingston Ave.
