It appears the viral Shrek Rave is coming to Columbus
While we’ll be the first to admit that the connection between green ogres and raves still feels a bit tenuous, the idea of a Shrek-themed rave is still something we can totally get behind.
And now, it appears you’ll be able to get behind it too, because according to a social media post from PromoWest Productions, the viral Shrek Rave is coming to Columbus.
The event–which is exactly what it sounds like–has become a surprise hit in the US and abroad, with participants dressing up like Donkey, Lord Farquaad and Shrek himself.

According to the PromoWest post, Shrek Rave will be held June 10 at Newport Music Hall, which is located at 1722 N. High St. You can buy tickets for the rave, which starts at $18, here.
Shrek Rave could not be reached to confirm the Columbus stop.
Unlike the movie backed by A-listers and the original book created by writer and cartoonist William Steig, this Shrek-themed event cannot be attended by anyone under the age of 18.
