Popular Canton-based escape room coming soon to Downtown Columbus
A new escape room is coming to Downtown Columbus, and it’s magic. Literally.
Magic Escape Rooms, which will be located on the fifth floor of 35 E. Gay St., plans to open this fall.
Billed as a “mission-based” escape room, the new Columbus attraction will offer immersive, live-action scenarios. The brand hopes to provide participants with a fun and enveloping “missions” that are mornabout enjoying the room and experience, rather than simply getting out.

As its name suggests, Magic Escape Rooms will embrace a theme of magic throughout various scenarios, such as Magician’s Secret, which is based on Columbus-born magician and master of illusion Howard Thurston. Another scenario, Witch Way, will be available soon.
Magic Escape Rooms will be the third concept for the Canton-based company. Escape Room Downtown originally opened in Canton in 2015, with a mobile escape room, Edison’s Lost Invention, opening in 2018.
