The Bubble Run is coming to Columbus

Jack McLaughlin

If you’re struggling to make exercise more fun, how about adding an obscene number of bubbles to your daily jog?

The Bubble Run, a traveling 5K fun run that incorporates (you guessed it) lots and lots of bubbles, is coming to the Columbus area.

The event recently announced the addition of a Columbus date. It will be coming to the Franklin County Fairgrounds, which is located at 4100 Columbia St. in Hilliard, on Aug. 26. The 9 a.m. heat is sold out, but runners can register for the 8 a.m. heat here.

Those who register will receive a finishers medal, a Bubble Run shirt, temporary tattoos and entry to the event’s afterparty.

While the Bubble Run isn’t the best bet for serious runners, as the event is untimed and noncompetitive, it is a good pick if you’re looking for an engaging way to stay active. Runners are bombarded by colored bubbles and foam, and the run’s afterparty even features a bubble cannon.
