This Columbus-based burger company is searching the country for the next luge olympian
Columbus-based burger chain White Castle is searching the country high and low for sliders, but not the kind you’re probably thinking of.
According to a press release, White Castle USA Luge Slider Search is the official athlete recruitment tour for USA Luge. The program is targeting athletes ages 9-13, and aims to “identify, train and qualify young athletes for the USA Luge Junior Development Team.”
The Slider Search will stop at several cities across the country in its hunt for candidates, including Columbus. The local tour, which will take place at Big Run Park, is slated to be held May 13-14 from 9-11 a.m., 12-2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.

Each tour stop will include a brief introduction to luge, taught by olympic coaches. Participants will also be able to take test runs down a paved luge course on sleds with wheels instead of ice.
Participants who stand out will be invited to a summer program at one of three fully-sanctioned luge courses.
You can sign up interested children here. All participants will receive a t-shirt for attending the 2-3 hour session.
