Plaza Pizza currently operates only a pair of locations on in Newark and Heath, but that likely won’t be true for long.

According to a press release from the brand, Plaza Pizza is preparing for an expansion through Ohio, and also into Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

The pizzeria did not include any specific locations yet, but said it could add as many as six new restaurants in 2023.

“Columbus is a melting pot of diverse palates and preferences due in part to the influence of Ohio State,” said o-owner Brian Claggett in a press release. “I’ve spoken with numerous industry experts who confirm that if a food concept can be successful in Columbus, it can be successful throughout America.”

The release said Plaza Pizza will begin franchising restaurants, and is on the lookout for investors.

The long-standing pizzeria opened its first location in Newark in 1971.
