Short North Piece of Cake, a bakery that has operated in Columbus for a quarter-century, appears to have closed up shop.

A signage on one of the doors of the Short North storefront, which is located at 772 N. High St., reads simply “Closed.”

Short North Piece of Cake could not be reached for comment by the time this story was published, but  the concept’s website, Instagram account, and in-store voicemail have been removed.

The store is also listed as “Permanently Closed” on Google as well.

Short North Piece of Cake was launched in 1998. Earlier this year, the concept posted to its Facebook page about a 25-year anniversary special that offered 10 percent off to customers on custom cakes. No mention of the closing appears on the bakery’s Facebook page.
