If you ask us, raising $60,000 in 15 minutes isn’t too shabby.

That’s exactly what the popular local concept Lion Cub’s Cookies did in a fundraising campaign to help open a Worthington storefront that was announced yesterday at 9 a.m..

The launch actually began at 9:22 a.m. because the store’s Honeycomb page, the crowdfunding website used for the campaign, crashed after fans flocked to Honeycomb following the announcement of the new location yesterday morning.

Lion Cub’s then opened a second round of investments, netting an additional $40,000 for a total of $100,000 that will go toward the new storefront.

”We are absolutely blown away by the support we just received from the Columbus community. We expected a strong turnout, but we did not expect to hit our funding goal in just 15 minutes,” said Lion Cub’s founder and CEO Bradley Kaplan in a press release. “Thank you so much to everyone who has been following along and supporting us throughout the years. A special thank you to everyone who just backed our crowdfunding campaign too, we’re still in disbelief over here and we feel the love!”

According to Lion Cub’s, the initial $60,000 raised in just 15 minutes broke a Honeycomb record for the shortest amount of time to reach an investment goal. The site’s previous speed record was 28 hours.
