After closure earlier this year, iconic Columbus diner sets grand opening date under new owner
Michael’s Goody Boy is will officially return to the Short North this week.
After the eatery’s former ownership group closed the space earlier this year, new owner Jacob Gaus took over. After a soft opening earlier this month, Gaus will hold the grand opening of Michael’s Goody Boy on Nov. 24.
The iconic Short North Diner, which was previously named Goody Boy Burger Club, and has changed hands and names several times in its 75 year history in the Short North, is located at 1144 N. High St.

In addition to an interior makeover anchored by an immersive new mural Gaus has revamped Goody Boy’s menu for its opening, including items like the Smokehouse Burger, sliders, Jumbo Chicken Wings and even Chicken Linguine Pasta, created by executive chef Henry Watson III.
Breakfast will also be served all day the new iteration of the Short North spot, featuring pancakes, biscuits and gravy, French toast and more.
Gaus is also the owner of CJ’s Soul Food in Lewis Center and Doubletake Bar & Grill in the Brewery District.
