After more than 60 years, this downtown restaurant has closed

A landmark in the Downtown dining scene has shut its doors.

Ho-Toy, which served Chinese and Thai cuisine plus cocktails, has closed after opening more than six decades ago.

A sign on the door of the Downtown eatery reads:

“Restaurant is closed. Thank you for support.”

The eatery does not have any social media presence, and could not be reached for comment by the time this story was published. The phone number listed on Ho-Toy’s website is no longer operational.

Originally located just south of the Ohio Statehouse on East Town Street, Ho-Toy relocated to its current location at 11 W. State St. in 1980, where it still boasts neon marquee signage just off the corner of West Broad Street and South High Street.
