After nearly 75 years, this Columbus eatery has closed its doors

Since 1951, Dan’s Drive-in had served as a popular eatery with a backdrop of classic Americana.

Almost three quarters of a century later, Dan’s Drive-in has closed. the restaurant was located at 1881 South High St. A landmark of the City’s far South Side, Dan’s boasted an iconic red and white marquee sign welcoming visitors.

Tio’s Diner, a new eatery serving a variety of classic American and Mexican diner fare, officially opened its doors for business on Oct. 28.

Dan’s Drive-in could not be reached before this story was published, and it’s currently unclear exactly when the long-standing Columbus eatery closed, and why. There is currently no information about the closure on Dan’s website or social media pages.

Tio’s Diner is open 7 a.m.-9 a.m. daily.
