Since March of 2020, when Columbus restaurants temporarily shuttered in the wake of COVID-19, Jay’s Crab Boil & Oyster Bar had remained closed.

Now, after almost three years waiting of, Jay’s officially reopened for business earlier this week. According to owner Jay Zheng, its reopening celebration was nearly three years exactly from the restaurant’s initial grand opening, which took place on Jan. 14, 2020.

Jay’s Crab Boil & Oyster Bar is located at 10705 Blacklick-Eastern Rd. in Pickerington. The Pickerington Chamber of Commerce was on site to perform a ribbon cutting when Jay’s reopened several days ago.

“We have to rebuild the team three times during these situations,” Zheng said. “We have federal and state injection money to help us survive, but still need to get some debts paid back from all that time we were closed.”

Jay’s is open from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. until 10:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
