While Slappin Wings officially opened its north side storefront in January, according to owner Credell Gilbert, the eatery already has a new location in the works, this time for the city’s west side.

Gilbert told 614Now that the restaurant is planning to open a new location at 2384 Sullivant Ave., in the former home of Irie Jamaican Cuisine. The concept’s original eatery is located at 1600 Oakland Park Ave.

Slappin Wings is hoping to open its new home by the 4th of July, Gilbert said.

The eatery serves up both whole wings (bone-in wings flats with the tips attached) and Wing Dings, which are trimmed. Just like at its north side location, diners will be able to order wings in any of the eatery’s signature sauces, which include Teriyaki, Mild Fire, Hot Fire, Spicy Garlic, Lemon Pepper, Carolina Gold and its most popular, Slappin Sauce.

The eatery also serves pizza, sandwiches and sides like hush puppies and fried okra.
