After opening in April, this Northside ‘luxury cafe’ announces their closure

A luxury cafe that serves pastries, coffee, mocktails, and even burgers and fries, is changing their direction after being open for three months.

Safia Sweets and Kitchen first opened on April 21st of this year at 2375 Silver Dr., taking over the old Frisch’s Big Boy restaurant. Their restaurant features stark white table cloths, glittering chandeliers, and a display of macarons, house-made Somali breads and pastries, along with other goods. They also host events.

However, on July 26th, Safia Sweets announced on Instagram that, “We have decided to take the business into a new direction. We will continue to provide our customers the catering portion of our business and we will fulfill any previous events that have been booked with us.” 

On August 20th, “Our 2375 Silver Rd. location will be closed permanently…” the post reads. “More information to come on our future endeavors. Again, we would like to thank you for your immense support. We have enjoyed serving you and hope to serve you again soon. Details of our catering services coming soon.”

Safia Sweets’ owners could not be reached for further comments.
