This Columbus-area pizzeria was ranked the country’s 17th best in annual Yelp list of top 100

One Columbus-area pizza spot was recently named among the country’s best in a yearly list from the restaurant-review giant Yelp.

The list, titled “The Top 100 Pizza Spots in US,” was published by Yelp in late January, and has become an annual occurrence for the popular platform.

Cracking the country’s top 20 spots was–not the likes of Tommy’s or Terita’s or Sexton’s–but instead the Reynoldsburg-based concept Tyler’s Pizzeria & Bakery. Tyler’s claimed the list’s 17th spot.

Opened by longtime Columbus chef and baker Bryan Tyler, the spot, which is located in a quiet strip mall off East Broad street, is self-described as a proponent of the “slow food revolution,” eschewing GMOs and additives for sustainability and an artisanal,  from-scratch approach.

In addition to its tastefully charred, wood-fired pies and strombolis, Tyler’s also offers rustic bread and a rotating lineup of baked goods like brownies, croissants and Danishes.

“With an emphasis on sustainable ingredients, this scratch kitchen makes everything fresh daily – from the pizza dough to their variety of sauces. Customize your pie with a selection of their locally sourced toppings, or choose from one of their specialty pizzas like the ‘Sunny-Side Up,’ complete with shredded potatoes, bacon, and eggs. If you’re inspired to do some baking of your own – order some of their raw dough to-go,” the list reads.

According to Yelp, rankings are determined by a number of factors, including a restaurant’s average review score in addition to total volume of reviews.
