Amid retirement rumors, owner of currently-closed pizzeria still searching for new home

Despite social media rumors claiming the contrary, the owner of Pizzaroni’s Pizza is still actively searching for a new home.

The winner of the Pizza Connoisseurs of Columbus’ 2021 Shop of the Year award, Pizzaroni’s surprised the Columbus pizza world when it announced a temporarily closure in March of 2022.

The closure came about as Pizzaroni’s, which was located at 12998 National Rd. in Etna, did not renew its lease as the pizzeria decided to search for a building of its own. Big Daddy’s Pizza quickly took over the new space after Pizzaroni’s left.

According to owner Tony Sabatino, that search is still ongoing, despite online speculation that it has come to a halt.

“We have been looking for over a year to purchase our own building. Currently we have not had any luck with finding a spot that would fit our needs. People continually ask where we are at at finding a new location,” Sabatino told 614Now. “I believe with the following Pizzaroni’s has, it would be a shame to let it die. We are still in hopes of finding a spot.”

Sabatino didn’t offer a timeline, but fans of the concept can continue to hope that one day it will return.
