Beloved Athens bagel shop, new concept from Wario’s opening inside Jackie O’s on Fourth next month

While we just learned that Jackie O’s on Fourth will open its fully-refurbished brewery and taproom on May 5, that’s far from the only exciting thing coming to the newly-renovated Columbus space.

According to a press release, a new restaurant concept from the minds behind Wario’s Beef & Pork (described as Columbus’ “Sultans of Sandwich”) will open inside Jackie O’s, and a food cart from popular Athens eatery Bagel Street Deli will be available on its spacious, 8,000 square-foot patio.

While the details of the new eatery from Wario’s haven’t been unveiled yet, Jackie O’s noted it will feature a “phenomenal menu that gives a colorful nod to Midwest traditions as well as the nostalgic fast food joints of yesteryear.”

Bagel Street Deli, a mainstay in the Ohio University food scene, offers a massive menu with 75 different premade bagel sandwiches alongside an option to build your own.

“We are beyond proud to grow Jackie O’s presence in Columbus, Ohio. We greatly appreciate the support and enthusiasm from the community on this massive project,” said general manager of Jackie O’s on Fourth John Clift in a press release.

Alongside a full renovated interior that more than doubles the original size of the space, the new Jackie O’s on Fourth will feature seating for 80 people, a concrete bar with 30 draft lines, a retail store and an event venue.

Jackie O’s new patio will also lean into the concept’s ethos of being “sustainably crafted with purpose,” providing space for a “cornucopia” of different plants and trees which will receive water from an on-site rain-collection tank crafted from a former fermentation vessel. The two-story patio will feature a fire pit on both levels.
