Beloved, now-closed restaurant is back and open under a new name & concept

Sav McKee

Many of you may remember a popular spot on Olentangy Rd. called “Fortune,” which specialized in authentic Chinese delicacies, ranging from traditional Szechuan to even Chinese-American take-out options. This no-frills restaurant may not have looked like much, but it was packed with flavor, and many Columbus foodies were bummed to find out it quietly closed its doors a couple of years ago.

Now, it’s back, and better than ever,  with the same owners and chef, but just in a different, newer location, with more upscale menu options. This new concept, called Chuanjiang Haozi, opened November 30th and is located at 496 Ackerman Rd, and people couldn’t be more excited about it.

On a Facebook post made by Columbus Food Adventures, people took to the comments to express that this re-opening/new concept is “…like a Christmas miracle.” “This is the best news! We’ve been so sad since they closed,” said another commenter.

Chuanjiang Haozi’s expansive menu features Chinese cuisine, like Sesame Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken, plus authentic Szechuan, like Stir Fried Chicken Gizzard, plus dim sum served every day, and even Chinese teas with cream cheese foam.

If you’re ready for an adventure, whether that’s trying Goose Intestine for the first time, or just ordering Chinese-American take-out like Lo Mein and General Tso’s, you can check them out Monday through Sunday, 11am-10pm.
