We’ve known Cameron Mitchell Restaurants plans to bring a new steakhouse concept to Downtown Columbus for some time now, but we’ve just learned more about the exciting new eatery.

According to a development update from the Instagram account of Downtown Columbus, longtime developer Jeff Edwards and Edwards Cos. is spearheading a project that will convert the PNC Center, located at 155 E. Broad St., from office space to a bustling mixed-use facility called the Preston Centre.

In addition to 105 residential units and 170,000 square feet of office space, the building will be home to the newest Cameron Mitchell Restaurants concept, a steakhouse that does not yet have a name.

Information from the Downtown Columbus post claims the concept is located below ground, but a Cameron Mitchell Restaurants representative told 614Now that the new steakhouse will actually be situated on the ground floor of the building.

The eatery will be adjacent to a garden and public outdoor park (complete with water features). Construction is underway on the project, with a target opening date of this summer. Once the Preston Centre is complete, the new eatery is slated to open shortly after.

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is also working on a fine-dining Mediterranean concept that will open at Easton Town Center. The restaurant group has not released a name for this eatery either.
