Clintonville-area eatery temporarily closed after being struck by vehicle

Jack McLaughlin

For the second time in as many weeks, a Columbus restaurant has been forced to temporarily close its doors after being struck by a vehicle.

According to a social media post from Hoggy’s BBQ & Catering, on the evening of Jan. 6, a car collided with the front entrance of the restaurant.

The details of what happened aren’t entirely clear, but the restaurant posted several photos of the aftermath to its social media accounts.

The front exterior of the building appears to be damaged, and a shot from inside Hoggy’s shows a displaced window, in addition to a broken booth.

Hoggy’s is located at 830 Bethel Rd. While it is situated in a plaza, Hoggy’s is the closest storefront in the plaza to the westbound lanes of Bethel Road.

According to a Hoggy’s representative, as of Monday morning, the eatery is awaiting contact from its insurance company regarding the incident. 614Now will provide an update when more information becomes available.
