Columbus burger, hot dog fusion concept calling it quits

After opening last year, a food truck serving up a unique combination of Cuban-inspired burgers is calling it quits, for now at least.

According to a statement posted to its Facebook page, the Sunbury-based Cosmic Fusion Mobile Cafe has closed. The eatery cited multiple reasons for the move.

“As we tried to plan for the upcoming seasons we ran into both staffing and food prep location issues,” the statement reads. “We were also planning on running a short season due to managing our other projects, preparing for a wedding, and trying to buy a permanent residence in Ohio.”

Specializing in a variety of Cuban-inspired burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries, Cosmic Fusion, the food truck didn’t make many trips into Columbus proper, but was often situated north and west of Downtown, in Marysville, Utica and more.

And while the truck is calling it quits for now, this may not be the last we see of the concept.

“Once we get our ducks in a row it is our intention to buy or build a brick and mortar restaurant which we feel will allow us to truly accomplish the goals we have for Cosmic Fusion,” the statement reads.
